Common Sensitivity "Facing AIDS with Compassion, Awareness & Determination" |
Below is a detailed listing of volunteer opportunities needed throughout the United States, but first a word about getting involved with our successful effort.
Your interest in the "AIDS & the Issues" national television show and the great, all volunteer organization behind it is important to us and very much appreciated. Below is a detailed listing of some of the volunteer opportunities available. Because of the conviction, belief, dedication, and involvement of dedicated individuals, this organization has done many significant things and is viewed with terrific credibility. A complete informational package is available upon request including copies of demo shows featuring Phil Donahue, Ryan White's mother, United States Congressmen, a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese, and an "all American" family struggling with the realities of HIV & AIDS.
As one of the national voices on this vital issue, we owe our great and growing success to those people who believe in the cause and join our effort. The details of your future involvement are less important than your commitment in doing what you can dependably and reliably while supporting and contributing to our high expectations by bringing successful results. In fact, this type of dedication to any cause is what shapes tomorrow's reality, and a deep part of our essence. Robert F. Kennedy spoke of the selfless, heroic involvement needed to change today's difficult realities in a speech he gave in 1966 in Cape Town, South Africa. "It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples will build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
Your involvement helping us bring about this degree of betterment is most welcome. Whether you can commit one hour or twenty hours per week is not the issue. Your dependability, follow through, and maintaining our high quality of achievement is what will continue this impressive organizations expansion, growth and affect. We welcome your involvement in this fashion and thank you for your interest. Please know that you are also welcome to refer such appropriate people to us as well.
Because we are a non-profit organization and resources including time must be utilized to the fullest, your taking the initiative to get involved is the next step. Please click on the signature below to send an email regarding your interest. If you choose to call us, leaving brief but detailed messages in the event that your call is not answered personally, hightens our productivity while diminishing wasted time and effort.
Welcome to Common Sensitivity, an organization filed with people committed beyond their own particular interests, the best the human spirit can offer. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely,
Barry Ansin
President

Help is needed around the United States, positions listed below for the "AIDS & the Issues" national television showBelow is a detailed listing of some volunteer opportunities that we want you to become involved with. This list does not include all of our volunteer needs, and there are many projects the organization is involved with beyond the television show that also need volunteer assistance. This list includes: Local Sponsor Local Media Coordinator Local Financial Sponsors Local Make-up Artist Local Financial Sponsor Coordinator Make-up Artists from around the country Market Coordinator Financial Sponsor Coordinator Production Assistant Distribution Assistant Guest Coordinator
How we expand our viewership by adding affiliate markets (absolutely vital )The Local Sponsor is vital in getting this show before millions of Americans around the country and only takes 1 hour each week. We already have many local sponsors who, each week, coordinate this show in their own local area (we call this an affiliate market). Before we can air our show in an affiliate market, we must secure a local sponsor as all non-locally produced shows require a local sponsor willing to be responsible for the show. We then arrange to have the tapes sent each week to either the local sponsor or directly to the cable studio if they allow this. After airing, these tapes need to be returned to us for reuse (we maintain a high level of resource efficiency). That is all there is to it! We encourage our local sponsors to be proud and take well-deserved credit for being the one responsible for this show airing in their area. As such, we ask our local sponsors not sit back, rather to exemplify our high expectations and result focussed interests that have been the reason for our impressive success and growth. The local sponsor has the opportunity to spend little time, yet has an incredible opportunity to help with something very significant and meaningful. Naturally, if a local sponsor wanted to help this effort further, we would be delighted. From getting out weekly press releases about that weeks show, to getting others to become aware and involved with the show, we need their help. As we have and will continue to produce shows around the country, a local sponsor may also wish to become involved arranging the show to be produced right in their local area! If this were the local sponsors interest, we would assist them by providing them with a clear outline on the process, which is really not very difficult or time consuming.
The Local Financial Sponsors make the airing of this show before millions of people possible and requires only money. Because we utilize our resources incredibly well and maintain an outstanding degree of productivity, expanding into new markets does not necessarily initially require a local financial sponsor. However, securing a local financial sponsor as quickly as possible is needed to cover our production and distribution expenses and continuing our national expansion effort. Although money is needed at some level, in-kind market sponsorship is available. The cost to be a local financial sponsor for one year is only $5,200 ($100 per show). This unheard of low price is possible because we operate in an incredibly productive and resource efficient fashion. Naturally, we welcome greater amounts and use such resources very effectively. All local financial sponsors are recognized at the end of each weekly show in the credits in a particular market. Additionally, our local financial sponsors receive a recognition plaque to proudly display at their place of business. They are encouraged to promote their involvement in this most worthwhile and successful educational public health show. This helps to get others aware and potentially involved.
The Local Media Coordinator takes about less than 1 hour per week.Skills & resources needed: Letter writing, phone skills, fax machine being available makes for much greater productivity, organizational skills, able to dependably work on their own, report to the Executive Producer The Local Media Coordinator is responsible for helping to get coverage for the television show in a local market. Once the correct media contacts have been established (and that is quite easy with reasonable organizational skills), sending the weekly updates is quite easy and takes very little time.
